Domain Validation (DV) Digital Certificate (Server)
The Domain Validation (DV) Digital Certificate (d-Cert) (Server) (without the “Wildcard” or “Multi‑domain” feature) provides standard SSL/TLS encryption for websites by verifying that the applicant has control over the relevant domain name. It enables secure HTTPS connections, removes “Not Secure” warnings in web browsers, and provides a basic level of data protection and user trust.
This digital certificate supports deployment across multiple server names under the same domain owned by the applicant organisation and is offered with a one‑year subscription period. During the subscription period, applicants may obtain an unlimited number of new certificates under the same application at no additional charge. The validity of each newly issued certificate will be subject to either the phased maximum validity period or the remaining subscription period, whichever is shorter.
Available Options for Application
Applicants may choose one of the following options during the application process:
- DV d-Cert (Server) (without “Wildcard” / “Multi-domain” feature)
- DV d-Cert (Server) with “Wildcard” feature
- DV d-Cert (Server) with “Multi-domain” feature
Eligibility for DV d-Cert (Server)
A DV d-Cert (Server) is intended for individuals, organisations, and businesses that operate a website and require basic SSL/TLS encryption to secure data exchanged between users and servers. This certificate is commonly used for personal websites, informational websites, and websites that do not conduct transactions or collect sensitive personal information, where foundational security and encryption are sufficient.

Benefits of Using a DV d-Cert (Server)
The use of a DV d-Cert (Server) enables website owners to encrypt data transmitted between users and servers using standard SSL/TLS technology and to verify control over the domain name. It supports HTTPS connections, removes “Not Secure” warnings in common web browsers, and provides a basic level of data confidentiality and integrity.
In addition, a DV d-Cert (Server) helps establish baseline user trust, improves website security posture, and provides a simple and efficient solution for securing websites where high‑assurance identity verification is not required.
