HKCA d-Cert are issued with SHA-256 algorithm.

HKCA issues certain digital certificates to minors so they can securely access approved online services that require strong identity assurance, with proper consent and safeguards. If a certificate holder is a minor at the time of submitting the application, it will be indicated on the certificate as “HKCA d-Cert (Personal/Minor)”. Relying parties are reminded that minors are not legally capable of entering into binding contracts, and any such transactions may subsequently be declared null and void.

HKCA is a recognised Certification Authority under the Electronic Transactions Ordinance, CAP 553. The HKCA d-Certs are recognised certificates issued in accordance with the requirements of the Electronic Transactions Ordinance and Code of Practice Recognised Certification Authority. In addition, HKCA conducts a strict authentication process the verification of the identity of the subscribers providing the infrastructure secure e-commerce.
